IELTS listening Test – A comprehensive study

IELTS Test – A comprehensive study

There are four sections of the IELTS course. However, it is often marked that the students mark listening test more difficult than the reading test. The reason being  that,in a reading test the text lies in front of you and can go through the answer more than once, even though the time in the section is limited. While in the listening test once the answer has gone, you cannot hear it again.

Definitely, concentration the key here. In the listening test, you have to be the focus and concentrated in order to hear the conversation. So, to let you know about more techniques below, we provide you a list of strategies:

Making own Notes:

Every exam be it the IELTS test or any global examination, you have to strategize your exam well. Therefore, while you are preparing for your listening test, keep in mind to take down notes. Now, this tip is also applicable while you are giving the IELTS tests. When you are listening you might hear the answer to another question as well, that time it makes you realize that you have not just missed a single answer but many. To avoid this, make notes on your question paper, in short forms. There are two stages that follow up in the listening test- one to note down the answers and second to copy them on the answer sheets.

Be absolutely accurate:

Regarding answering questions, we have often thought that long answers fetch us more marks. Filling up the pages or answering along with writing the question makes us score well. However, in the IELTS course, this theory does not work. While you are listening to the test, you have to be aware of the answer to the point and accurately. Supposedly your answer needs to be given in one word, you should answer just the word. For example- you are required to fill the blanks “on the….” now the answer is “bench” and you wrote the complete phrase “on the bench” you won’t fetch any marks despite knowing the answer.

No negative Markings:

Don’t leave a blank when there are no negative marks for an incorrect answer. However, when it comes to the IELTS listening test, try not to leave a blank space, and not avoid any question unanswered. Leaving a blank space might confuse you too at the end, since you may write down the answer to a correct question in front of a wrong question. Therefore, it is better always better to guess the most appropriate one and fill in the answer. You might be lucky to guess the correct one and even if you answered wrong, you do not lose any marks.

Well, these were the three strategies and the most common and helpful ones, since following them you will be able to prepare for the listening test in the IELTS more easily and also perform in a much better way in the test.

The best tip is to Join an reputed IELTS coaching class and secure your future….
